Day 12 saw us crossing the border into Italy. We were now well into our tour of the Monta Rose massif. From the cold morning Swiss fog almost immediately after crossing the border we were catapulted back into high summer as we arrived in the village of Macugnaga. This was the day we were introduced us to the Italian bivaccos where we met some wonderful and very interesting characters! Here are some of the photo highlights....
