A Motorhome In Glarus, Cycling The Pragel Pass (1548m) and Elm

Technically, after more than a week living, cycling and hiking on the Klausen Pass, our trip into the valley to visit the town of Glarus was intended as nothing more than a chance to restock our fridge. However, with temperatures tickling almost 40 degrees celsius and the discovery of a free motorhome aire with services, we ended up staying for 3 very warm days and nights, giving Esther a chance to tackle the Pragel Pass (21 km at 5% average) and a ride up to the village of Elm on her bike while I enjoyed some gentle jogs along the valley floor.

Also, as luck would have it, a nearby field proved to be the perfect place to take the gang out for their morning and evening runs. By the time we moved on from Glarus, not only did we have a restocked fridge, we’d also discovered another lovely place to stay in Switzerland. Here are a few pictures of our hot, hot, hot rest stop.
