Following our aborted attempt on the Tour de Queyras earlier in the week we decided to ease back into our hiking boots on Sunday with a short walk up the Vallee du Melezet from Ceillac. Strolling along the flat bowl of the valley alongside the GR5 with the jagged mountain tops of the Pics de la Font Sancte ahead of us we made our way to the base of the Cascade de la Pisse, a stunning waterfall tumbling from the lakes above. Feeling inspired and rested by the cool air of the waterfall, we took another route back climbing slightly up the opposite side of the valley to just below 1900m and following the track from the Cime de la Melezet and through the Bois de Jalavez back towards Ceillac, this time enjoying a more lofty and distant perspective of the waterfall. Taking just a few hours overall it was a beautiful and restful walk beneath a sunny sky.
Arriving at the waterfall, the sun came out creating a wonderful show for us as we peacefully sat and watched the water cascading down the fall:

The edge from which the many paragliders jump off from, made for a contemplative spot to sit as the evening light drew in:
